For over two decades our Founder and Creative Director Shaun Leane has sought to redefine his craft, creating some of the
world’s most iconic contemporary jewels. 20th April 2020 sees the launch of the deluxe edition of Shaun Leane published by ACC Art Books, ahead of the wider launch of the classic edition later in 2020. The book chronicles Leane’s
illustrious career as he celebrates the 21st anniversary of his eponymous jewellery House.
Shaun Leane is introduced by the jeweller himself, then divided
into three distinct parts: His heritage and training, by
independent fine jewellery specialist Joanna Hardy; reflections
on Leane's famous collaboration with Alexander McQueen, by
curator Claire Wilcox; and his modern classic commercial
jewellery style, by jewellery writer and historian, Vivienne
Becker. Altogether, this book provides a vital overview of an
artist that will be of interest to anyone who follows
contemporary jewellery and fashion.
'2020 is an important year for me, both personally and
professionally, marking both my 50th birthday and the 21st
Anniversary of the House of Shaun Leane. It felt like an
important moment to pause and reflect, bringing together
images that have defined my career to date and the many
collaborations that have shaped my practice. Many of the
images have been taken by Ann Ray, a unique talent who
captured the essence of the beautiful friendship and
collaborative journey I shared with my dear friend Lee
Alexander McQueen.'

'As I hope the reader will discover, these works are a milestone in my evolution as a craftsman and designer. Together they tell a story that twists and turns from the goldsmithing benches of Hatton Garden to the catwalks of London and Paris. As a young apprentice, I often visited the jewellery gallery at the V&A to be inspired by past masters and collected books as forms of reference and inspiration.'
Continuing the 21st anniversary year celebrations, a Shaun
Leane sales exhibition will also be taking place at Phillips
London and New York later in 2020 and provides the setting
for the wider launch of the classic hardback edition of
the book. The exhibition will showcase an unprecedented
collection of important fine jewellery commissions,
historical archive designs and never-before-seen backstage
photographs by world renowned photographers Ann Ray,
Nick Knight, Robert Fairer and more.
