Shaun Leane’s exquisite bejewelled beetle delves us into the psyche of an avant-garde artist. His bespoke archives double up as chambers of curiosities; brimming with natural history jewelled “specimen”.
The Green Beetle Broochs' blackened 18 carat gold lifelike body is articulated with precision set 0.41 carat black diamonds. The beetle’s nocturnal vision resounds in Leane’s shimmering green wings of 1.68 carat Kenyan tsavorites; individually sprung en-tremblant, so they move with the wearer.
A glistening appendage of 0.35 carat G Colour VS2 quality white pavé diamonds, enclose two rose-cut diamonds of 1.13 carats and 1.00 carats. Evident is Leane’s celebration of the English woodlands and wildflower hedgerows.
His enchanting, whimsical charms are meticulously modelled in minute detail; so that the Green Beetle Brooch comes alive when worn; doubling up as a necklace.
